Become a subOceana reseller in Second Life: have fun and earn 25% or 50% of each sale.

Conditions

You must own or rent a shop in Second Life. Rez the vendors you want to use and you're done: your shop is listed at the top of this page. The products and prices included in the kit are listed on the subOceana Marketplace store.

Getting started

The CasperVend catalog vendors let you sell all the “subOceana – HEPS Virtual Dive Systems” products of the catalog and earn a 25% or 50% commission on the list price. The main products are scuba diving items, with great detail, forming a complete and growing dive simulation system. Use them just for fun and to discover the underwater world, or to learn and teach scuba diving in Second Life, with real-time instruments, interactive chat commands and many more features.

How it works

  1. Rez the vendor anywhere you like — your shop, for example.
  2. Grant it debit permissions (otherwise it cannot pay the owner of the items sold).
  3. It connects automatically to the sales network and downloads product information. Repeat for each vendor you rez (vendors are copy, modify, no transfer); see the user guide of each vendor.
  4. Your shop instantly appears on this page.

Visibility and traffic

You cannot buy what you cannot see: most sales happen because a display picture caught someone's eye. Place vendors where they are clearly visible and where people pass by; rez more vendors, and larger ones, for more visibility and sales.

Good places for vendors:

  1. Your own land
  2. Your stores
  3. Friends' land, especially a mall, club or any attraction that draws people
  4. Other busy places: ask their owners — many will agree

Payment

On every sale you automatically earn 25% or 50%, depending on your kit — no manual crediting, the vendor does it all. Customers pay you, as the owner of the vendor; the vendor calculates your commission and sends the rest to subOceana. For a L$1000 product on a 50% vendor:

  1. The customer pays L$1000, credited to your account.
  2. The vendor calculates your commission: L$500.
  3. The vendor pays the balance, L$500, to subOceana.

CasperVend also takes a 2% commission on the total, shared between you (L$500 − 1% = L$495 each).

Your own purchases: no commission is paid on items you buy from your own vendor. However, in Barton, our main warehouse, you get 50% off with your “subOceana Reseller” group tag active.

Updates

Inventory updates are sent to the vendors automatically: new items, new pictures and new prices appear without you doing a thing.

Problems and questions

If customers ask you questions, forward them to subOceana or ask them to get in touch in-world. Please read the user guides included and this website before sending an IM; for anything else, or a suggestion, just get in touch — happy to help.

Legal

subOceana reserves the right to disable any vendor at any time, and to ban an avatar from registering vending machines with the HEPS Virtual Dive Systems server should the need arise. There will be no refunds. This will only happen if a reseller acts against the interest of the partnership and of subOceana – HEPS Virtual Dive Systems.
